Job Description
- Assign Nursing staff according to assessment of patient care needs, nursing competence, and staff development.
- Ensure timely documentation of nursing interventions and patient responses.
- Check reports and make sure record Is being properly maintain on system and manual registers staff nurse.
- Monitor and evaluate appropriate measure to ensure adherence of policies and procedures related to:
- Safety procedures related to the storage of dangerous drugs and chemicals.
- Infection control procedure, especially hand-washing and aseptic techniques.
- Documentation of reports and records
- Dress code policy is being followed accordingly
- Time and attendance policies
- Cleaning of the unit
- Pre / Post operatives.
- Ensure linen is changed according to the standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Regularly meet with consultants to discuss patient care and adherence to nursing standards.
- Consult regularly with supervisors regarding Unit / Ward management.
- Assist the management in performance appraisals of nursing staff by providing regular assessments.
- Respond quickly and appropriately in conflict or crisis situations.
- Supervise the orientation and integration of all new nursing staff.
- Report all incidents and accidents to Nursing Administration.
- Promote and develop professional and collegial relationships within the Nursing department.
- Prepare reports regarding patient protocols, incidents, absenteeism and non-compliance.
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Management / Head of Department.
