Job Description
- As directed, investigate fire or suspected fire incidents etc. and to retain evidence to solve fire safety issues. Responsible to prepare investigative reports and recommend preventive action plan.
- Responsible to manage fire related incidents, fire investigations, fire risk assessment within campus available resources
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations related to fire safety / environmental safety.
- Responsible to conduct fire safety / risk assessment & OH&S management system audit as directed by senior management.
- Responsible to train and develop ”RRT" TIH team to prevent / handle fire incidents, rescue, evacuation safety, chemical safety, nuclear — biological, radioactive material handIing& tracking & waste disposal etc.
- Responsible to develop TIH rescue & evacuation safety, chemical safety, nuclear - biological, radioactive material handling& tracking & waste disposal plan and provide training to all internal departments.
- Coordinate & assist in handling, installation and training of fire safety panels, fire hydrants and fire hose reels and demonstrate the use of firefighting equipment.
- Responsible to guide staff to prevent fire damage by developing & conducting Fire training programs twice in every month.
- Deliver technical knowledge by workshops and training encourage staff to participating in scheduled drijls. Ability to demonstrate sound understanding of fire behavior, and extreme fire ground dynamics;
- Responsible to assess a proper size-up (risk vs. gain) early into the operation;
- Responsible to implement existing standard operating procedures (SOPs);
- Responsible to carry out staff fire safety trainings at outreach units, and inspect fire safety apparatus / refilling and expiry dates, stickers are fixed and maintaining of all records.
- Responsible to inspect all fire safety equipment at main campus, and ensure that all equipment’ s & PPE, s are up to date and not expired and update stickers are fixed.
- Responsible to liaison with Local / Federal Government (PNRA) for radioactive waste & disposal / EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) for compliance of Environmental Laws, including attending hearings.
- Ensures availability of water at fire scene by testing extinguishers/ hydrants; requesting and expediting repairs; verifying repair.
- Responsible to ensure that EPA environmental codes (applicable to hospital) are comply by respective campus departments.
- Responsible to liaise with EPA inspection team (in case of planned or unplanned campus visit) and ensure all issues are resolved / closed and visiting team is satisfied.
- Responsible to attend EPA / KMC hearing as and when required or directed by senior management
- Responsible to liaison with local City Distract Government / Fire Brigade Department / EPA local control office.
- Responsible to maintain all data of fire safety equipment and make arrangements of re-filling where required. Any other task assigned by safety & security department management
