Job Description

 JOB SUMMARY:

A key component of the clinical instructor role is to provide instructions to the onboard staff as well as the newly hired one regarding the policies and practices of TIH. They are also responsible for the evaluation of the policies and procedures as well as providing the informal feedback on the practices, for special course according to the educational need of the nursing staff

TASKS & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Organized CBO for newly hired nursing staff
  • Conduct special courses according to the need of nursing staff to increase the existing knowledge base of nurses practicing clinical nursing at TIH.
  • NES instructors assist in the planning, development and instruction of nursing courses for an educational or medical program, to improve and maintain high standard of nursing care to patients at TIH, thus increasing the satisfaction level of patients / relatives.
  • To conduct Lectures on relevant nursing topics, to update knowledge regarding handling / upkeep of latest knowledge and the tools for monitoring.
  • Participate in seminars and meetings.
  • Collaboration with colleagues to revise and evaluate course content and teaching.
  • Actively participate in CME activities at TIH like cardiology department, orthopedic, emergency department, pediatric department, with general surgery.
  • Actively involved in nursing audit
  • Participate in Volunteer program in coordination with CRD
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities:          
  • Nursing instructor are professionals with the education and practical skills to update the knowledge and practices of on board nursing staff.
  • CNI provides staff with opportunities to acquire the knowledge and practice the skills identified in their JDs using varied and appropriate teaching methods.
  • They plan learning activities to meet program outcomes based on the standards set by policies, and acceptable practices.
  • NES instructor participates in program evaluation and continuous improvement process, thus engaging in personal professional development.
  • Provides clinical instruction to nursing staff in approved health care settings, adhering to the policies of the clinical setting and the Indus College of Nursing
  • Discuss with staff their concerns and/or problems directly or indirectly related to learning experience.
  • Provide clinical, classroom, and skills lab instruction.
  • Supervises nursing staff  in clinical areas and provide one on one individual teaching at bed side
  • Orients nursing staff to the clinical area, and demonstrates proper procedures.
  • Maintains clinical standards and design course according to the needs of the nursing staff
  • Maintains the professional practice knowledge base needed to instruct learners in contemporary nursing practice.
  • Participates in ongoing program evaluation activities as needed
