Job Responsibilities:
· Perform complete and appropriate medical examinations on all patients, including a comprehensive examination for initial and follow up visits.
· Evaluate each individual patient and prescribe appropriate medication, conservative treatment and/or referrals for procedures/surgery as indicated.
· Review and interpret medical history data and continually update relevant information as necessary.
· Conduct assessments and diagnostic tests to determine the cause of the symptoms.
· Interpret all laboratory data. Review and initial all abnormal laboratory reports, order appropriate/additional tests and referrals or follows-up as indicated.
· Ensure time, space and staffs for surgery and other procedures have been scheduled.
· Conduct surgical procedures and other treatments in accordance with accepted methods.
· Facilitate related services for patients as appropriate with respect to their confidentiality and privacy.
· Consult with patients following operations and treatments; recommend post-operative care.
· Perform all tasks assigned by the supervisor.· Manage and maintain the departmental inventory from general store, biomedical and pharmacy.
· Arrange to prevent damage to the departmental equipment and loss of inventory.
· Help in drawing departmental guidelines and ensure they are practiced by the staff.
· Keep expensive items in lock and key and keep a check on their appropriate usage.
· Supervise and help colleagues in their clinical performance.
· Liaise with all the hospital departments where there is need.
· Liaise with outside institutes and departments where need to be.
· Ensure smooth functionality of department.
· Ensure patients are dealt with courteously and caringly in the department.
· Facilitate related services for patients as appropriate with respect to their confidentiality and privacy.
· Help in management of Orthopedics Surgery patients.
· Academic activities like case presentation, seminars and paper presentation
· To participate and contribute to departmental quality initiatives
· To perform any job / task as and when assigned by the superior and head of department.
· To help in hospital committees when asked for.
· Manage the staff to be engaged in academic activities.
· Team player, does not hesitate in calling for help where needed and manage work load well.
· Help in teaching of departmental staff and other outside learners.
· Perform any job assigned by Head of department.
