REGULAR TASKS/ RESPONSIBILITIESPatient care Management:
1.
Makes daily rounds with physicians and Assistant
Manager of all the delegated areas to monitor the quality of the patient
care/environment to ensure that patient's regimen is being accurately followed.
2.
Reviews nursing documentation of patient care of
delegated area.
3.
Ensures satisfaction of all admitted and
discharged patients.
4.
Responds quickly and appropriately in conflict
or crisis situation in patient care areas. Meets daily with CNI to discuss
patient management and staff performance
5.
Meets regularly with patients and/or families to
resolve complaints and issues relation to nursing care.
Patient Core Assignment
1.
Assigns nursing staff according to assessment of
patient care need, nursing competency and staff development.
2.
Meet frequently with clinicians to discuss
patient care treatment regimens and quality issues.
3.
Ensures adequate staff coverage for patient care
management during weekend and public holiday.
Human Resource Management
1.
Sets clear and appropriate expectations for all
nursing practices of patient care and communicate these too concerned staff.
2.
Exhibits role model behavior for all nursing
professionals.
3.
Counsels nursing staff in case performance not
being satisfactory and provides Opportunities for remedial activities
4.
Maintains timely documentation and anecdotal
records for use in summative and formative performance appraisal.
5.
Encourages creativity, imitativeness and
innovativeness in staff.
6.
Maintains timely communication regarding staff
resignation with Assistant Manager/Manager.
7.
Demonstrates fair judgments with all nursing
staffs.
8.
Contributes to the creation of Work environment
that fosters positive staff morale motivation and open communication by holding
regularly scheduled staff meetings with an agenda, which allows for staff
input.
9.
Leads the unit staff in the formulation and
operationalization of a philosophy of nursing care for the unit.
10. Ensures
an open line of communication with unit staff.

Manager about the staff performances.
Operational Management
1.
Establishes unit-based standards and priorities,
monitors performance against the same and takes corrective measures if
performance is not up to the mark.
2.
Assesses patient care and acuity trends and plan
for staffing, supplies and equipment as indicated.
3.
Collaborates and assist Assistant Manager
nursing in selecting and hiring new staffs.
4.
Establishes a collaborative working relationship
with clinicians, diagnostic and support services in order to facilitate the
timely delivery of patient care.
5.
Reinforces department, division and hospital
policies and procedures.
6.
Responds quickly and appropriately in conflict
or crisis situations.
7.
Maintains accurate record of all events relating
to staff, patients or the unit.
8.
Consults with Assistant Nursing Manager
regularly regarding unit management affairs.
9.
Monitors and follows all incident reports and
disciplinary action.
10. Monitors
online documentation on HMIS efficiently.
11. Maintains
inventory and equipment management.
12. Assist
