Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Provides functional support for Anesthetic to perform the Anesthesia procedures, preoperative medical and surgical supplies, and in addition feed patient charge slips and unit charge in the system.

TASKS & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Check patient identification and procedure before taking patient for procedure; check basket as per procedure. Maintain proper dress code and ensure good housekeeping.
  • Arrange/Maintain medical and surgical supplies, packs, sets, linen, and supplementary items as per procedure need.
  • Check anesthesia equipment (e.g., machine, monitor, and required intubation set).
  • Maintain proper dress code and ensure good housekeeping.
  • Evaluate patients' pre-, intra-, and post-anesthesia responses, taking appropriate corrective actions or requesting consultation if complications occur.
  • Monitor patients' responses, including skin color, pupil dilation, pulse, heart rate, blood pressure, respiration, ventilation, and urine output using invasive and noninvasive techniques.
  • Assist in managing regional anesthetic techniques such as local, spinal, epidural, caudal, nerve blocks, and intravenous blocks.
  • Respond to emergency situations by providing airway management, administering emergency fluids or drugs, or using basic or advanced cardiac life support techniques.
  • Arrange orders for anesthetics, adjuvant drugs, accessory drugs, fluids, or blood products as necessary and update records of usage.
  • Assist in managing patients' airway or pulmonary status using techniques such as endotracheal intubation, mechanical ventilation, pharmacological support, respiratory therapy, and extubation.
  • Report immediately to the Supervisor if any items break down, expire, are damaged, lost, or unavailable.
  • Any other task as assigned by the Supervisor.
