Job Description
The Clinical Supervisor provides essential technical and clinical leadership to strengthen the competencies of Community Midwives (CMWs), directly contributing to improved Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH) outcomes. The incumbent acts as the primary liaison between the training program and hospital leadership to foster a conducive, trainee-friendly environment. The role is responsible for overseeing the clinical rotation, ensuring every trainee achieves mandatory hands-on practical targets, and performing rigorous competency-based evaluations guided by evidence-based and culturally sensitive clinical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and monitor all onsite clinical activities, ensuring a structured, supportive, and trainee-friendly environment that adheres to evidence-based MNCH protocols.
- Provide direct, hands-on clinical instruction to CMWs, facilitating the bridge between theoretical knowledge and practical application through consistent, bedside guidance.
- Systematically track and manage individual clinical cases, ensuring every participant receives equitable exposure and completes all mandatory practical procedures within the designated rotation period, while ensuring accurate documentation using the clinical pocket guide.
- Conduct rigorous, day-to-day competency-based evaluations of trainees, providing real-time, actionable feedback to address performance gaps and ensure proficiency standards are met.
- Act as the primary point of contact between the training program and hospital leadership to facilitate seamless clinical rotations, resource availability, and compliance with clinical site requirements.
- Ensure all clinical activities strictly adhere to Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC) and Provincial Health Department standards, while documenting training outcomes, success stories, and lessons learned for project reporting.
