Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
The Aya will support healthcare services by providing basic patient care, maintaining hygiene, and assisting LHVs in ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients. The role is particularly focused on supporting women, children, and maternity cases in the health facility.
TASKS & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Assist LHVs in patient examinations, deliveries, and minor procedures
- Support pregnant women and mothers during pre- and post-natal care
- Assist in handling newborns under the supervision of LHVs.
- Manage crowed of ANC, PNC, family planning patients
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of OPD & waiting area, labor room and delivery tables
- Assist LHVs during patient handling, movement, and positioning
- Ensure availability of cleanliness and assist in instrument sterilization
- Ensure proper disposal of waste according to infection prevention and control (IPC) protocols.
- Observe and report any changes in patient condition to nursing staff
- Maintain respectful and culturally sensitive behavior with patients and attendants
- Any other task assigned by supervisor
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- Preferably local resident of Pishin or Killa Saifullah
- Prior experience in hospital, clinic, or maternity care is an advantage
- Basic knowledge of hygiene and patient care practices
- Physically fit and able to perform routine care tasks
- Good interpersonal skills with a caring and respectful attitude
