Job Description:

The responsibility is to respond swiftly to equipment corrective maintenance complaints in accordance with departmental policy and standards, allowing equipment to be used to its full potential. The function necessitates required good technical knowledge, teamwork, and a proactive attitude to ensuring equipment durability, efficacy, and compliance with healthcare standards and laws.
This position is responsible for providing services in order to maintain the hospital's standards. It entails establishing and improving work practices, delivering comprehensive biomedical engineering services, and implementing creative ideas, methods, policies, protocols, and procedures throughout the institution.

 

Key Responsibilities:

·         Manage both preventive and corrective maintenance activities for medical equipment.

·         Adherence to the KPI’s

·         Maintain and track all relevant documentation, including service reports, preventive maintenance schedules, service contracts, and calibration certificates.

·         Analyze equipment performance trends to recommend necessary repairs or replacements.

·         Liaise with suppliers, manufacturers, and service providers to coordinate repairs and ensure timely follow-up.

·         Participate in the technical assessment of new equipment and assist in vendor selection processes.

·         Develop technical specifications and support tendering and procurement activities.

·         Collaborate with hospital departments during facility expansions and the commissioning of new units.

·         Work closely with clinical and technical teams to resolve operational issues efficiently.

·         Ensure adherence to regulatory standards concerning laboratory equipment safety and operation.

·         Communicate effectively through detailed reports and professional email correspondence.

·         Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned by supervisors.

·         Accurately maintain service records, calibration logs, and equipment histories within the complaint software system.

·         Supervise and mentor biomedical engineers, promoting a culture of technical proficiency and responsibility.

·         Understand and apply safety protocols related to environmental conditions and electrical requirements for medical equipment.
