Education
Graduation or Master’s degree in a medical/health sciences field, such as Generic BSN, Allied Health, Microbiology. Included Diploma or Certification in Infection Prevention and Control is mandatory or highly preferred.
Job Description
The Infection Control Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, training, and practical guidance on Infection Prevention & Control to internal institute and external to the Doctor’s Nurses and healthcare professionals. This role ensures learners gain strong theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and adherence to international IPC standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver lectures, practical demonstrations, and training sessions related to Infection Prevention and Control.
- Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, presentations, and assessments according to target audience.
- Ensure participants understand core IPC principles, including standard precautions, isolation techniques, aseptic procedures, microbiology basics, and outbreak management waste management.
- Evaluate internal participants performance through quizzes, assignments, practical assessments, and clinical observations.
- Maintain accurate academic and training records for all sessions.
- Guide students in applying IPC protocols during clinical practice or simulated environments.
- Stay updated with national and international IPC guidelines (CDC, WHO, APIC).
- Provide mentorship and support to learners for academic and professional development.
- Coordinate with academic teams and clinical departments to ensure smooth training delivery.
- Frequently schedule the internal refresher session related IPC for safe practice and promote a strong culture of patient safety and best practices in infection control.
Required Skills
- Strong teaching and training expertise, including classroom and clinical instruction.
- In-depth knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control standards and guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Strong teamwork, leadership, and mentoring capabilities.
- Proficiency in preparing teaching materials using MS Word, PowerPoint, and LMS platforms.
- Ability to engage learners and manage classroom environments effectively.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills related to IPC and patient safety.
