Job Description:

  • Assist in identifying and resolving patient needs by coordinating with relevant healthcare providers and program staff.

  • Provide guidance and support to patients and their attendants regarding the rabies exposure assessment process, wound care instructions, and follow-up vaccination schedules.

  • Facilitate patient flow within the clinic/ward to ensure timely assessment and treatment.

  • Support clinicians in administering and documenting rabies post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) as instructed by medical officers.

  • Ensure patients return for vaccination follow-up doses on time; contact defaulters and arrange follow-up reminders

  • Encourage patients, parents, and caregivers to participate in active screening after animal bites or exposures.

  • Provide simple counseling on rabies prevention, safe wound care, and the importance of completing PEP.

  • Promptly notify supervisors about any incidents involving patients, staff, visitors, animal bite cases, or unexpected occurrences related to rabies care and clinic operations.

  • Carry out any additional responsibilities assigned by the Supervisor/Head of Department.
