Job Description
Performance of all tasks assigned by seniors with proper maintenance of analyzers & stock in hematology lab, and effectively following the rules as per Infection Control Department and IHHN Policy.
REGULAR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES /AUTHORITIES
- Analyze laboratory findings.
- Conduct hematological analysis of blood and body fluids including CSF and special hematology tests.
- Check the accuracy of results
- Calibrate and operate all instruments in the hematology Lab
- Inform all abnormal results to related Dr/ consultant
- Proper storage of samples of abnormal results
- Follow instructions of infection control and ISO.
- Instruct and train juniors and trainees
- Issuance of reports
- Rejection of tests if required
- Rejection of samples on certain criteria prescribed in SOPs
- Repetition of test if required
- Daily consumption of inventory
- Responsible for maintenance and safe custody of the electro medical equipment in the section.
- Ensure timely receiving of specimen, processing and completion of results.
- Ensure timely processing and completion of urgent results.
- Ensure safe custody of the lab records, register, work list and forms.
- Any discrepancies brought to notice of the respective registrar.
- Maintenance of QC.
- Can resolve QC issues.
- Plotting and interpretation of LJ charts.
- Ensure quality assurance.
- Constant check and up gradation of SOPs
- Involve in academic activities, presentations, teaching juniors and participation in seminars
PERIODIC DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (Monthly Quarterly, Biannually, Annual)
- Maintenance of stock of kits, consumables etc.
- Maintenance of Data
- Monthly maintenance of analyzers according to Maintenance Procedures.
- Weekly maintenance log
- If any error/ problem occur in any analyzer, communication with supplier’s Biomedical Department and Engineers.
- Weekly / Monthly Indent
