Alternate Night Shift
Job Responsibilities Include:
1. Daily Rounds & Consultant Instructions
a. Participate in daily patient rounds with the primary consultant/team.
b. Ensure that all clinical orders and instructions provided by the consultant are promptly and accurately followed.
2. Investigation Follow-up
a. Track and follow up on all assigned patients’ lab results, radiological imaging, and any other investigations (internal or external).
b. Ensure timely documentation and communication of results to the consultant team..
3. Pre-Round Patient Assessment
a. Conduct a thorough and timely assessment of all assigned patients prior to consultant rounds to ensure accurate clinical updates.
4. Team Coordination
a. Collaborate with fellow Medical Officers and support staff to align work schedules and responsibilities to ensure seamless patient care.
5. Informed Consent
a. Obtain informed consent for any procedures being performed, ensuring the patient and/or attendant fully understands the process and risks involved.
6. Patient & Attendant Counselling
a. Communicate effectively with patients and their attendants, providing necessary updates, explanations, and emotional support as required.
7. Off-Hours Coordination
a. Coordinate with the on-call consultant or designated team members during off-hours to address urgent matters or changes in patient condition.
8. HMIS Documentation
a. Ensure that receiving notes and initial clinical assessments are entered into the Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) within 30 minutes of patient admission.
9. Proper Patient Handover
a. Taking and giving proper over of patients on bedside to next shift doctor.
