Provide reception services at all inpatient and daycare floors, which includes multidisciplinary coordination for patient care, receiving patients from admission office, administrative support to OSR referrals during admission. It may include bed side visits for attendant control, coordinating with diagnostic, clinical, nursing and support departments on need basis, ordering meals, facilitating discharge process and other related clerical tasks to support smooth functioning of inpatient
REGULAR DUTIES/ASSIGNMENTS
1 Answer phone calls of assigned extension promptly and accurately with courtesy and proper greetings at inpatient reception counter and provide necessary information to patients/attendants
2 Closely coordinate with admission office regarding bed status and/or possible discharges. Also facilitate admission officer by ensuring timely availability of beds as per discharge policy
3 Received patients in wards/units and ensure patient identification using two identifiers before handing them over to the ward nursing staff
4 Check physically admitted patients with bed wise information on HMIS in every shift
5 Generate food requisition for all admitted patient as per written communication by the nursing staff for further approval
6 Coordinate with nursing, clinical and support service for smooth ward operations.
7 Promptly report security issues to immediate supervisors and on-duty security supervisors
8 Facilitate outside investigation requests by providing support to nursing, welfare and clinical operational team by following transportation arrangements by the assigned staff.
9. Send outside investigations, images and reports of admitted patients to EMR if advised by the admitting team.
10. Schedule appointments for in-patient and daycare patients for post discharge follow ups
11. Maintain records of admission, discharges, short leaves and transfers
12. Manage performance of assigned porters and coordinate with functional managers where required
13. Coordinate with diagnostic services for patients' investigations and transportation accordingly
14. Proper reporting of all issues and incidents during shift to immediate supervisor
15. Proper handing and taking over at the end of every shift.
16. Adheres to professional standards, hospital policies, procedures, and service excellence standards.
