Job Description

Trainee Dietitian is responsible to perform a variety of clinical and operational duties which include nutritional assessment, reassessment as per department criteria, planning oral and enteral feeding regime and supervision of patient meals assembling / distribution. Responsible to comply JCIA / ISO 22000:2005 standards and report food safety & other complaints / problems to immediate supervisor or designee.

  • Process Nutrition assessment for therapeutic patients within 24 hours of admission as per hospital criteria and responsible to maintain confidentiality of patient’s data as well as departmental systems.
  • Responsible to comply JCIA / ISO 22000:2005 standards and report food safety & other complaints / problems to immediate supervisor or designee.
  • Responsible for the compliance of institutional / department conduct and discipline code.
  • Compile dietetic information / system monitoring tools / forms in accordance with TIH- HMIS System & update patient nutrition plan and assist the food production & service staff.
  • Ensure safe use of computer network and related system, and ensuring that network hardware is in working condition and appropriate measures are taken in case of breakdown of system e.g. informed to immediate supervisor.
  • Perform all assigned responsibilities in compliance with policies & procedures of the clinical nutrition and work under the guidance of clinical nutrition management e.g.
  • Nutritional counselling for in -patients under supervision of assigned clinical nutrition staff.
  • Post meal rounds to rectify any deficiency in meal service
  • Calculate and plan enteral nutrition support for therapeutic diets and any specialized feeding formula.
  • Inspect patient meals assembly / distribution operations as per assign duties and ensure the timely & accurate completion of assigned shift work including operational activities as per clinical nutrition management guidance.
  • Clinical Nutrition Management is responsible to assess individual trainee performance on monthly and assist in accordance with trainee diet technician “training module”.
  • Any other related task as assigned by senior clinical nutritionist or designee.
