Job Description
- Responsible to provide direct patient care throughout the shift and in a calm, courteous and tactful manner.
- Responsible for assure the quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards; making or recommending necessary adjustments in consultation with the treating physician.
- Responsible to help resolve patient problems and needs by directing, guiding, or creating liaisons with other healthcare providers.
- Responsible to encourage parents or guardians of children to participate in active screening for childhood TB, whether in the ward or in the outpatient department.
- Responsible to facilitate doctors in maintaining and sharing data with the team and ensuring that the data is up-to-date and accurate.
- Responsible to ensure that there is an adequate supply of consumables i.e. forms, masks, gloves, etc.
- Responsible to follow doctors' instructions for patient care.
- Responsible to arrange proper follow-ups with patients and ensure that patients do a follow-up on time.
- Responsible to accompany the patient for registration with the Provincial TB Control Programme and recording and documenting the TB registration number.
- Responsible to facilitate patients in getting investigations done and in addition following up on the investigations.
- Responsible to notify/report incidents related to patients, staff, visitors, and any untoward occurrences in a timely manner.
- Responsible to perform delegated patient & non-patient-related tasks as directed by the respective medical officer.
- Responsible to perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Head of the Department.
